THE NOTTINGHAM WOMEN'S CENTRE

Volunteering at the centre to support vulnerable women in looking for and applying for jobs.  This involved identifying what support they needed and look at ways of overcoming any barriers they may have been facing.  Along with helping them with their CV's and applications.

YEAR 9 OPTIONS

Sometimes feeling pressured by different teachers can be quite overwhelming.  Some young people can struggle to make decisions at a young age.  Ensuring that they are the right decisions, can be even more difficult.
So working closely with them made them feel more confident in making the right decisions to ensure they succeed.

NEXT STEPS (YEAR 10,11, 12, 13 AND 14)

Knowing what the right next step is for young people at this time can be extremely difficult.  The variety of choices can be overwhelming.  Often feeling bombarded with other people's opinions, including family, friends and teachers can become a bit stressful.
Furthermore not having a real interest in a particular career or having much knowledge on the range of careers can feel confusing.
The one to one support offered and continued support on request, had a huge impact on the students and the next steps they made
